چکیده
Oral white lesions are quite common clinical conditions in dental practice. They can be an expression of different diseases, so it is crucial to achieve a correct diagnosis start adequate treatment. However, differential not always easy because the appearance oral often similar and non-pathognomonic. We report on 42-year-old Caucasian woman who complained chronic patch left border her tongue. Amalgam dental fillings and hearing loss.
In this study we investigated the effects of amalgam dental fillings on auditory thresholds. Participants (n=39) were non-smoking women age 40 to 45. Regression and correlation analyses were performed between auditory thresholds, measured from 0.25 to 16 kHz, and the number/surface area of dental fillings, using the ASHA criteria for ototoxic change as a reference for comparison. No significant...
متن کاملAmalgam Associated Oral Lichenoid Reaction – A Case Report
Oral lichenoid reactions are considered variants of oral lichen planus and may be regarded as a disease by itself or as an exacerbation of an existing oral lichen planus by the presence of medication or dental materials. They represent a type IV hypersensitivity reaction and most commonly affect the oral mucosa in direct contact with an amalgam restoration. Oral lichenoid reactions can cause si...

14 To examine possible association between dental amalgam fillings and mercury burden, we measured the mercury concentrations in scalp hair samples from 74 female Japanese subjects aged 26-64 years who had a dietary habit of little fish-consumption. The hair mercury concentrations in the subjects with multiple amalgam fillings were significantly higher than those in the subjects with no amalgam...
متن کاملHigh-field MRI and mercury release from dental amalgam fillings.
Mercury is among the most toxic nonradioactive elements which may cause toxicity even at low doses. Some studies showed release of mercury from dental amalgam fillings in individuals who used mobile phone. This study was conducted to assess the effect of high-field MRI on mercury release from dental amalgam filling. We studied two groups of students with identical tooth decays requiring a simil...
